They excluded patients who developed metastasis at the time of surgery, received perioperative radiotherapy or single-agent chemotherapy, or died within 90 days of surgery. <br /><br />The study found that among NSCLC patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, those without a clear response to treatment were more likely to receive adjuvant chemotherapy. However, the researchers did not observe improved outcomes with this approach. The logistic regression model revealed certain variables associated with the use of adjuvant chemotherapy. Age at diagnosis, sex, and neoadjuvant chemosensitivity were significant predictors of receiving adjuvant chemotherapy. <br /><br />In conclusion, a portion of NSCLC patients who receive neoadjuvant chemotherapy also undergo adjuvant chemotherapy. However, this approach does not seem to have improved outcomes. The study provides valuable insights into the use of adjuvant chemotherapy in NSCLC patients and highlights the need for further research to understand the optimal treatment strategies for these patients.
