EP08.02-047. The Impact of CGP on the Decision-making Process in ALK+ aNSCLC After Failure of 2nd/3rd-Generation ALK TKIs

Comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) has a significant impact on the decision-making process for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (aNSCLC) patients with acquired resistance to ALK tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) after failure of 2nd/3rd-generation ALK TKIs, according to a study conducted by the Israeli Lung Cancer Group. The study analyzed the use of CGP in guiding treatment decisions for 22 ALK-rearranged aNSCLC patients. <br /><br />The study found that the use of CGP led to a change in the recommendation for next-line systemic treatment (NLST) in 30% of cases. The median turnaround time for CGP was 2.9 weeks. However, one patient died while waiting for the CGP results. <br /><br />The study also evaluated time-to-treatment discontinuation (TTD) and overall survival (OS) with NLST in patients in whom the NLST was initiated after receiving the CGP results compared to those in whom NLST was initiated before receiving the CGP results. The results showed that there was no significant difference in TTD or OS between the two groups.<br /><br />The study concludes that CGP has a significant impact on the decision-making process in ALK-rearranged aNSCLC after failure of 2nd/3rd-generation ALK TKIs. It recommends the use of CGP to guide treatment decisions in these patients. However, further research is needed to validate these findings and determine the optimal use of CGP in this population.
