Pdf Summary
A study conducted in a Tumor Centre in China explored the impact of group rehabilitation training on the psychological status and quality of life of lung cancer patients. Lung cancer patients often experience symptoms such as frequent coughing, fatigue, and poor sleep quality, leading to anxiety and depression. This study aimed to observe the effects of group rehabilitation training in addition to conventional lung cancer treatment during hospitalization.

The study included 78 lung cancer patients who were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group. The control group received conventional nursing intervention, while the observation group received ward group rehabilitation training in addition to the conventional intervention. The training included breathing exercises, rehabilitation exercises for the arms, aerobic training, and endurance training.

After two weeks of group rehabilitation training, the patients in the observation group showed significant improvements in their psychological status. They had lower scores in somatization, obsessions, interpersonal relationships, depression, anxiety, hostility, fear, paranoia, and psychoticism compared to the pre-intervention and control groups. Additionally, the observation group showed more positive attitudes towards reality and the future.

In terms of quality of life, the observation group scored higher in dimensions such as physical function, role function, social function, emotional function, fatigue, dyspnea, insomnia, and overall quality of life compared to the control group.

The study concluded that group rehabilitation training helped improve communication among patients, breakdown barriers, and enhance their psychological state. It also increased their hope for recovery, psychological resilience, respiratory function, activity endurance, and reduced fatigue. Overall, the training had a positive impact on the psychological status and quality of life of lung cancer patients.
