Pdf Summary
This ongoing study focuses on the integration of a Tobacco Treatment Program (TTP) navigator into an existing clinical tobacco treatment program at Fox Chase Cancer Center/Temple University Health System. The goal is to assess the acceptability and feasibility of this patient navigation intervention for cancer patients. The study includes both a pre-intervention cohort (30 patients) and an intervention cohort (90 patients) who will receive additional sessions with a tobacco treatment program navigator. The study will consist of prescreening patients, obtaining informed consent, and conducting baseline, 1-month, and 6-month surveys.

Provider perspectives on the integration of the TTP navigator will be obtained through provider focus groups conducted at two time points in the study. The goal of these interviews is to assess providers' views on the integration of the navigator and the case management system. The study anticipates that the addition of the navigator will streamline provider workflows and encourage patient compliance.

Recruitment for the study is ongoing, with 65 participants currently enrolled. The study is expected to be completed by early 2024.

The study is funded by Fox Chase Cancer Center, with Linda Fleisher as the principal investigator.

Overall, this study aims to evaluate the impact of integrating a TTP navigator and assess its acceptability and feasibility in improving tobacco cessation outcomes for cancer patients.
