EP04.01. The Combination of a Seven-Autoantibody Panel with Computed Tomography Scanning Can Enhance the Diagnostic Efficiency of Lung Cancer - PDF(Abstract)

A study presented at the World Conference on Lung Cancer aimed to validate the diagnostic efficacy of a novel seven-autoantibody (7-AAB) panel for the diagnosis of early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The researchers enrolled 2650 patients who underwent both the 7-AAB panel test and CT scanning. They compared the sensitivity, specificity, and positive predictive value (PPV) of the 7-AAB panel, CT, and PET-CT in diagnosing NSCLC. <br /><br />The study found that the combination of the 7-AAB panel and CT scanning had a specificity of 95.4% and a PPV of 95.8%, significantly higher than CT or PET-CT used alone. The researchers also developed a nomogram based on CT image features and the 7-AAB panel to further improve diagnostic efficiency. The nomogram passed the calibration test and had an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.791.<br /><br />Furthermore, the study explored the prognostic value of the 7-AAB panel. They compared the pathological and molecular results of NSCLC patients in the 7-AAB panel positive group and the negative group. The 7-AAB panel positive group was associated with a higher proportion of EGFR mutations, lower pathological differentiation degrees, more advanced pathological stages, and higher Ki-67 indexes in patients with adenocarcinoma.<br /><br />In conclusion, the study demonstrated that the combination of a 7-AAB panel with CT scanning can significantly enhance the diagnostic efficiency of lung cancer. Additionally, the 7-AAB panel showed potential prognostic value and could provide reference significance for treatment planning.
