Pdf Summary
Lung signet ring cell carcinoma (LSRCC) is a highly malignant and poorly differentiated form of lung cancer that is difficult to treat. This study aimed to analyze the molecular characteristics of LSRCC in the Chinese population and explore its relationship with clinical characteristics.

The researchers collected samples from 39 LSRCC patients and conducted various genomic and transcriptomic analyses. They identified single nucleotide variations (SNV), copy number variations (CNV), and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the LSRCC samples. They also compared immune cells between the tumor and surrounding tissues.

The results of the study provided a comprehensive understanding of the molecular landscape of LSRCC in Chinese patients. The researchers found that genes from the MUC family were among the most mutated genes in LSRCC, while mutations in the TP53 gene were not as prevalent. Missense mutations were the most common type of SNV, with C-T base substitutions being the most frequently observed. The study also revealed a strong enrichment of the cell cycle signaling pathway in LSRCC.

Furthermore, the percentages of CD8 T cells and CD68CD163 cells were significantly increased in LSRCC samples, indicating an immune response within the tumor microenvironment.

Overall, this study contributes to a better understanding of the underlying molecular mechanisms of LSRCC in the Chinese population. The unique molecular features identified may serve as important references for making clinical treatment decisions for LSRCC patients.
