Pdf Summary
This presentation discusses the prognostic factors for patients with KRAS mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and brain metastases. The study is a retrospective cohort study consisting of 87 patients who were treated between 2011 and 2017. The researchers collected information about demographics and clinicopathological parameters. Cox regression analyses were used to identify predictors of overall survival (OS).

The results showed that the median age at diagnosis was 68 years, with a female predominance. Adenocarcinoma was the most common histological subtype. Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status, age, number of brain metastases, presence of extracranial disease, adenocarcinoma histology, CNS radiotherapy, and surgery for brain metastasis were found to be statistically significant variables affecting OS in the univariate analysis. In the multivariate analysis, ECOG performance status, number of brain metastases, adenocarcinoma histology, presence of extracranial disease, and age as a continuous variable were found to be independently influencing OS.

The researchers also mentioned that they are currently conducting an analysis of a KRAS mutated specific prognostic score using the aforementioned variables together with co-mutational status. The results regarding this score will be presented at the conference.

In conclusion, this study identifies clinical variables that influence overall survival in patients with KRAS mutated NSCLC with brain metastasis. Further results regarding a specific prognostic score for KRAS mutated patients will be presented at the conference.
