Pdf Summary
A real-life study was conducted to assess the correlation between patient-reported fatigue and the clinical team's assessment in lung cancer patients undergoing immunotherapy. The study collected data from 31 patients over an 8-month period, using a questionnaire called Brief Fatigue Inventory (BFI) before each treatment cycle. The results showed that fatigue was consistently underreported by the physician during clinical consultations, with a 75% underreporting rate. The BFI questionnaire, on the other hand, was able to identify and stratify different degrees of fatigue severity. The study concludes that the BFI is a sensitive tool for detecting fatigue that is not reported in consultations. It also suggests that further studies with larger sample sizes are needed to confirm these findings. The study highlights the prevalence of fatigue as a common adverse effect in lung cancer patients undergoing immunotherapy and the importance of accurately assessing and addressing this symptom.
