The efficacy of a second-line treatment regimen using osimertinib plus gefitinib was compared to chemotherapy in patients who developed resistance to first-line osimertinib. Additionally, the study compared the results of a clinical trial using first-line osimertinib plus gefitinib to the results of this study using only first-line osimertinib. Patient-derived organoids were used to verify the effectiveness of the first-line treatment with osimertinib plus gefitinib.
