Pdf Summary
This case report describes a multimodality approach to treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) using a combination of whole-cell and peptide-stimulated dendritic cell vaccine, cytokine-induced killer cell infusion, and immunotherapy. The patient, a 70-year-old female with a history of cough and persistent chest pains, underwent various treatments and interventions, including surgery, targeted therapy (osimertinib), and cellular immunotherapy. The patient's progress was monitored through radiological assessments, blood tests for interferon gamma levels and oncogenic gene expression, and PET/CT scans.

The results showed that the patient had sustained survival, with a good quality of life 19 months after diagnosis. The multimodality treatment approach, which involved activating immune cells to fight the cancer, provided a higher chance of survival. No adverse events were reported during the treatment.

The report emphasizes the importance of targeted therapy and cellular immunotherapy in combating cancer. Targeted therapy, such as tyrosine kinase inhibitors, can control the growth of cancer cells with driver mutations. Cellular immunotherapy, which activates dendritic and killer cells, helps the patient's immune system fight the cancer.

The report concludes that a multimodality approach, combining different cancer treatment modalities, can improve the chances of survival in lung cancer patients. It highlights the need for personalized treatments based on individual tumor profiles and the importance of ongoing monitoring and assessment throughout the treatment process.

The findings of this case report contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting the effectiveness of cellular immunotherapies in cancer treatment. Further research and clinical trials are needed to validate these findings and explore the potential of multimodality treatments for other types of cancer.
