The median densities of TILs in diagnostic and follow-up samples varied depending on whether the patients received treatment between the sample pairs.<br /><br />Gene expression analysis was also performed on the samples, and the results showed 94 differentially expressed genes. Some of the highlighted genes included CXCL13, FCRL1, FCMR, FCRL2 BLK CCR7, FCRL3, Pax5, CD19, CXCL9, IDO2, and HLA-DOB. Among these genes, 82 were downregulated and 12 were upregulated.<br /><br />Overall, this study provided insights into the changes in TILs and gene expression in MPM patients after treatment. The researchers concluded that there is a decrease in the number of TILs and downregulation of immune-related genes after systemic treatment. They suggested that larger validation cohorts are needed to better understand these dynamic changes and determine the optimal treatment schedule for MPM patients.
