Pdf Summary
This study focused on investigating the expression and prognostic role of IGF2BP2 in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). The researchers used various databases and tissue samples to analyze IGF2BP2 expression and its functional implications in LUAD. It was found that IGF2BP2 was significantly upregulated in LUAD compared to normal lung tissue. High levels of IGF2BP2 were associated with poor overall survival, disease-free survival, progression-free survival, and progression-free interval in LUAD patients. IGF2BP2 was found to be distributed in various cell types in the lung, including immune cells such as macrophages and alveolar cells. Furthermore, it was extensively expressed in different immune cells, particularly myeloid dendritic cells and monocytes. Analysis also revealed that IGF2BP2 had positive associations with several immune cell types and negatively associated with B cells in LUAD. Functional enrichment analysis showed that IGF2BP2 was associated with various tumor-related processes and pathways, including metabolism and DNA damage repair. Additionally, RNA editing of IGF2BP2 was found to be significantly associated with the response to various chemotherapeutics in lung cancer. Furthermore, IGF2BP2 was found to be associated with drug sensitivity to over 100 types of chemotherapeutics. The study suggests that highly expressed IGF2BP2 is associated with poor prognosis and shorter survival in LUAD. It also plays a significant role in regulating immune cell infiltration, metabolism pathways, and drug resistance in LUAD. The findings indicate that IGF2BP2 may serve as a potential target for immune therapy and overcoming drug resistance in LUAD.
