Pdf Summary
This abstract discusses the findings of a study on sexual dysfunction in patients with lung cancer. The study aimed to identify and characterize sexual dysfunction in a cohort of Spanish patients with lung cancer. Data was collected from October 2020 to March 2023, including clinical and demographic variables, as well as measures of sexual function using a validated questionnaire. The results showed that 40.5% of men and 36.2% of women reported being sexually active. Severe disorders of most phases of sexual response, such as orgasm and dissatisfaction with sexual performance, were reported by 40 to 59% of patients. The study also found significant associations between certain factors and sexual dysfunction, such as time of diagnosis (2-4 years), being under follow-up, age (65 years), and gender (female). The study highlights the high prevalence of sexual dysfunction in patients with lung cancer and identifies risk factors. It suggests the need for improved follow-up strategies and specific support for sexual dysfunction in this population.
