By characterizing the lncRNA-associated ceRNA network, the study aims to pinpoint lncRNAs crucial for stage I LUAD development.<br /><br />Three lncRNAs—LINC00639, RP4-676L2.1, and FENDRR—were found integral to the ceRNA network. Among these, FENDRR emerged as a noteworthy risk factor concerning progression-free survival (PFS) of stage I LUAD patients, as revealed through univariate Cox regression analysis (HRs 1.69, 95% CI 1.07–2.68, P<0.050). Furthermore, FENDRR's differential expression in both normal and LUAD tissues was confirmed as significant via real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) (P<0.001).<br /><br />The study uncovers the FENDRR/miR-6815-5p axis's regulatory role in early-stage LUAD progression, suggesting a novel pathway influencing the disease's advancement, which requires further verification through in vitro and in vivo studies. This research provides valuable insights for future prognostic assessments and therapeutic strategies targeting early-stage lung adenocarcinoma.
