Key risk factors identified include sex, age, smoking status, TNM cancer stage, histological type, performance status, and COVID-19 infection. For instance, women showed a higher three-year survival rate (42.4%) compared to men (31.7%) in 2020. Survival rates were notably lower for older patients, smokers, and those diagnosed with more advanced cancer stages.<br /><br />The improvements in survival rates are attributed to advancements in medical therapies and strategies, including early diagnosis. These enhancements emphasize the importance of early detection and continued research in lung cancer treatment. The study underscores the ongoing need for real-world data to evaluate treatment effectiveness outside clinical trial settings.
