Good morning to everyone and thanks a lot, I'm so glad and honoured to receive this award thanks to the ISSC Board of Directors and members. So it is true that in Europe the proportion of smokers has declined in most of the countries since 2006, but then has remained overall stable since 2014, that means 10 years and as you can appreciate the real red in this picture is important. Which is the position of ISSC in this specific context? Well I can say pretty clear and categorical and Women Against Lung Cancer in Europe spent the last 15 years to implement more or less all these recommendations at national and European level. Why I will continue and we will continue to invest time, resources and people in designing and conducting primary prevention campaign. These are the numbers from my country in the black line you can appreciate the percentage of people, male and female smokers and as you can see in 2022 we registered a significant increase since 2006. This means that we have a 7.7 million former smokers and 12.4 million current smokers and among these one out of four consumes more than one pack of cigarettes per day. As in several European countries this kind of other devices other than the classic cigarette gained unfortunately a dangerous and clear a good for them position in the market. We registered the highest numbers of female teenagers smokers in Italy across Europe and let me say the cigarette became again in the iconography for music and movies the symbol of rebellion and freedom. Which is the situation? This is a report from the Ministry of Health and at what age they start smoking. If you group together the green and the pink piece of the cake you can appreciate that we are talking about more than 50% of a pupus 9, 10 and 11 years old and from the same report we know that the best way to implement recommendation is at school and with teachers. This is the reason why we designed the I'm not smoking that already translated in French and English language. We were able to reach more than 12,000 classes and this was launched and presented at the European Parliament in 2011 is a game box with the big book of tale with 24 booklets for children so ready for a classroom and with the teacher's guide. During this meeting we will talk more or less in all the session about personalized therapy. In women against lung cancer in Europe we are talking about personalized primary prevention campaign because it is clear that we cannot use the same message and instruments talking with pupus, teenagers, young adults or patients. And I can translate for you which is the main reason for teenagers to start smoking is emulation within the family, with friends, emulation of famous actor or influencers. This is the reason why we often use the channel of cinema and movies like in this social campaign I call it Blam or Cenere di Stelle designed with Val Cepuglia. We designed the different sketch for instance this one for the Z generation or short movies and we went twice to the Venice Film Festival to distribute this kind of material. Again following the indication of ISSC we also produce a lot of material flyers and booklets in Italian and in several European languages for patient diagnosed with cancer. All we know that pregnancy could be a teachable moment to stop smoking but we also know that 50% of women resume smoking during the first year after giving birth and this is the reason why we design especially for them this campaign conducted with gynecologist and with Hector that is the beer plush produced with the engineers of Trudy is coughing nearby someone with smoking. And we suddenly realize how much is dangerous this kind of device not only the cigarette but all these devices and we produce customized material for male and female and also for women and as you know there is a strong position also from the American Heart Association in this publication on circulation few weeks ago. For the entire population you know the big tunnel this stand come out of the tunnel Don't Burn Your Future. We went in several squares across Europe. We were able to reach more than 16,000 people. Inside there are key messages. There is a possibility to meet doctors, physician, oncologist and pulmonologist and to perform a spirometry and in 2019 we were in Barcelona during the World Lung Cancer Meeting. There is no lung cancer screening without a primary prevention campaign. This is the reason why Women Against Lung Cancer in Europe disseminated and promoted the first Rete Italiana screening pulmonare, the first lung cancer screening promoted by the Ministry of Health in 18 Italian centers. We produced the material. The program is still ongoing and in less than one year we recruited more than 7,000 people. Again, thanks for this award. I would like to thank my mentor who guided me during my career step by step and Stefania who is my right hand in all the Valce initiative from the beginning. Thank you so much.
