Hypertension showed a slight protective association.<br /><br />Subgroup analyses revealed that the association between first-degree family history of lung cancer and NSCLC was particularly significant among males and individuals under 60 years of age. The study's results highlight the importance of considering family history and regional/environmental factors in lung cancer risk assessments for never-smokers, suggesting that these factors could enhance targeted screening strategies.<br /><br />This investigator-initiated study, funded by AstraZeneca, emphasizes the need for broader risk factor identification beyond smoking history to improve early detection and outcomes for lung cancer in never-smokers.
