Summary
The CT Screening Symposium at WCLC 2026 is a 1-day, in-person event dedicated to advancing lung cancer screening and early detection through innovation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and global implementation strategies. The symposium will bring together international experts to discuss emerging evidence, evolving technologies, and practical approaches to optimizing lung cancer screening programs across diverse healthcare settings.
The program will feature four expert-led educational sessions during the morning, each followed by interactive panel discussions and audience Q+A. Topics will include the growing role of biomarkers in lung cancer screening and early detection, emerging evidence surrounding lung cancer screening in those who never smoked, the broader health benefits and incidental findings associated with low-dose CT screening, and the expanding use of artificial intelligence in lung cancer screening workflows and risk assessment.
Following the lunch break, attendees will return to the symposium for a hands-on, interactive workshop focused on practical and emerging challenges in lung cancer screening and early detection. Through multidisciplinary case-based discussions, participants will work through complex and challenging real-world screening scenarios, highlighting clinical decision-making, management considerations, and implementation challenges across diverse practice settings.
The workshop will also include expert debates on current controversies and hot topics within the field, encouraging audience engagement and discussion around evolving evidence, best practices, and future directions. Additional interactive components may include audience polling, multidisciplinary panel discussions, and problem-solving exercises designed to promote practical learning and peer-to-peer exchange.
