This study aimed to evaluate the overall survival of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastasis (BM) using the prognostic score Lung-mol GPA, which combines clinical characteristics and molecular alteration. The study included NSCLC patients with BM who were treated at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital between January 2015 and December 2020. The patients were categorized into four groups based on their Lung-mol GPA scores, with the lowest score indicating the worst prognosis and the highest score indicating the best prognosis. The median overall survival for the four groups ranged from 3.65 to 20.34 months, with a statistically significant difference between the groups.<br /><br />In addition to the Lung-mol GPA score, the study also evaluated the impact of serum albumin level on survival. Serum albumin levels above 3.5 g/dL were associated with a decreased mortality rate compared to low serum albumin levels. When the albumin level was added to the Lung-mol GPA score, the predictive ability of the model significantly increased, suggesting that albumin level can help improve overall survival prediction in NSCLC patients with BM.<br /><br />Overall, the study found that the Lung-mol GPA score can accurately predict overall survival in NSCLC patients with BM. Additionally, adding the serum albumin level to the Lung-mol GPA score improved the prediction of overall survival. This information can be useful in categorizing patients and guiding treatment decisions for NSCLC patients with BM.
